Good question! The Ready-made designs are just that. They come as a digital download so are available immediately and include:
- a mood board so you can see what the border will look like once in flower
- a planting plan so you know which plants to plan where
- a maintenance plan so you know how to take care of your plants once they're in the ground
- a general advice and tips guide
There are lots of designs available with more added regularly. All are available to purchase here.
They are based on a garden border approx. 1m x 3m but can be adapted to fit your border.
The bespoke garden border design service is specifically designed for your garden and includes the following:
- a one hour video call to discuss your garden and what you're looking for
- a mood board
- a planting plan based on your specific garden requirements and the style you are looking to achieve
- a maintenance plan
- advice on where to purchase plants locally to you and online
- a general advice and tips guide
It's really up to you! Blossom is perfect as a gift or if you're happy adapting the design for your particular border. It's also a great starter to planting garden borders for beginners or for the more experienced gardener who just wants some plant ideas that work together.
We think it's a great low cost way to get professional planting design for your garden.
Bloom is suitable for anyone who wants a professional garden design for their borders without paying the higher costs of hiring a garden designer. It's a good option for trickier gardens or for people who want something unique for their garden.
Yes absolutely! In fact at the moment we concentrate on creating beautiful garden borders for our clients and have excellent local contacts for the larger projects. So if you just want us to develop one or 2 new planting plans to fit in with your existing garden, or want a new area created for a new herbaceous border for instance, we are your people!
To have your whole garden redesigned is a big project and will take a good designer many hours to create you something bespoke. Because we tend to work on smaller projects, either rejuvenating tired garden borders and creating dynamic new planting plans for them, or creating something new from scratch, our costs are lower meaning you won't pay us as much as you would to have a complete garden redesign.

Then we'll provide you with a quote and if you want to go ahead we'll arrange a design consultation. More details can be found here but feel free to get in touch for more specific questions.
It may be that you want plants suitable for a sun drenched border but you have a semi shady boggy area to plant. We will only recommend plants that we are confident will work in the garden border that you have. As Beth Chatto, the famous plantswoman said, " right plant, right place". Plants will only thrive if they are suitable for the conditions they will be growing in. We know it can be frustrating if you don't like the conditions of your garden, but we'll help you work with, not against what you have to create garden borders with the wow factor! It’s a good idea to also know the soil type of your garden so you can understand how best to improve it. The RHS has great detail on this. In general it is a good idea to improve your existing soil with a soil improver before planting.
